Description of the work
Oil and charcoal on linen canvas. The body is not depicted here; it is revealed. In this work of striking intensity, the human figure emerges in fragments, poised between presence and dissolution. Every line, every drip, every burst of colour bears witness to a gesture that is free, instinctive, and almost visceral. Nothing is superfluous; everything serves the expression of emotion. The figure appears suspended in motion, hovering between balance and surrender. Nervous, expressive lines engage in dialogue with the softness of the linen, while touches of ochre, crimson, and turquoise infuse the composition with a subtle vibrancy. The surrounding void becomes a space of contemplation, allowing the full expressive power of the subject to unfold. Rather than pursuing anatomical perfection, this work seeks the truth of the living form. It evokes fragility and strength, the memory of the body, and the emotional intensity it carries within. The longer one contemplates it, the more it reveals its subtle nuances, leaving each viewer free to project their own narrative onto the work. A work of singular presence and character, it finds its place as naturally in a contemporary interior as in a distinguished collection, where its quiet yet compelling presence immediately commands the eye.
