The gallery
Committed to supporting both emerging talent and established artists, the Loo & Lou gallery opened its Paris space on Rue Notre-Dame de Nazareth in June 2015.
In 2017, the gallery opened ‘L’Atelier’, a new space adjacent to its Haut-Marais venue, which provides a complementary programme to the current exhibition (including performances and ‘work in progress’), offers the opportunity for a second exhibition period for works already on display, and also serves as a venue for programming by young artists.
The Loo & Lou gallery operates through an artistic direction that is open to all disciplines and draws on diverse sources of inspiration. Its programme finds its cohesion in a selection of artists often driven by a reflection on the exploration of life, the body and portraiture, and also inspired by the theme of nature. In 2018, it launched a new strand of its programme: the ‘Cartes Blanches’, awarded to independent curators, which underscore its commitment to reaching out to the wider world in order to engage in dialogue, discover new approaches and showcase new artists.
