Description of the work

One only needs to enter Pierre-Luc Poujol’s studio, nestled in the heart of a lush forest, to immediately understand his profound connection with the vegetal world. A constant source of inspiration, nature is translated by the artist through both painting and sculpture. Each work by Pierre-Luc Poujol embodies the tangible expression of a boundless quest, in which the boundaries between traditional techniques and avant-garde approaches gradually dissolve. For the artist, creation becomes a field of continuous exploration and transformation. Beyond the projection and dripping techniques that define his practice and give his painting its distinctive character, Pierre-Luc Poujol also incorporates his own organic and unconventional tools into his creations: tree branches, plant-based ashes, and charcoal. These materials allow him to establish a more intimate connection with his subject. Through his painting, the artist conveys a profound desire to merge with his works, creating a dialogue in which body, matter, and nature become inseparable.
