Cedric Le Corf explores the classic theme of vanity, thereby placing himself within an art history strongly influenced by Spanish art, with which he became familiar during his residency at the Casa de Velázquez. The artist takes this common motif as his starting point to experiment with his oil painting practice, building it up into a three-dimensional form.
